EVERY MESS CAN BE TURNED INTO A MESSAGE

 We have all messed up in one way or another. We have seen entrepreneurs who lost it all but because of a positive attitude they came back to glory. Life is always tough for both good and bad people. What makes the difference is out attitude towards making a difference in life. The likes of Oprah Winfrey were born in poor families but since her child hood she had a dream that she will become a wealthy woman and today she is . As a financial literacy coach I have had a privilege of speaking to countless youths who have financial scars. They were defrauded of their hard earned money. That is not a nice feeling. I remember just a few years back a certain company closed after conning the public of their hard money with the promise of high returns. 

The hope in life is that as long as a person is alive and has the right attitude he or she can make a financial comeback. I know of an international preacher who was sexually molested at a young age but today her ministry is blessing countless men and women. We shall never escape life's harsh trials but if we focus on developing our gifts and talents we can make it at the global stage. We know of local musicians who never stepped into university but are impacting the world. At the same time we have university graduates who have failed to get their preferred jobs for almost 3 years. Attitude plays a very critical role in what we become in life. We should never allow temporary situations to define our destiny. Things can change if we think long term.

No one has a perfect life. Many of the successful people that we wish to emulate have had some of the most unimaginable challenges in life. The difference is that they did not allow the setbacks to define them. We can turn our mess into a message.

A SAVINGS PLAN CAN AID IN FINANCIAL ADVANCEMENT

 I remember during the Trainer of Trainers training conducted by Bank of Uganda we were encouraged to develop a savings plan. This was a key development because without a plan we may live in financial darkness. WE CELEBRATE GRADUATION BUT AFTER THAT WHAT NEXT ?

 Uganda is officially dominated by young people. Over 50 %of the population are youths. With a high population the job market also shrinks yet people need to survive. It is the means of survival that create social pressure. The unemployment dilemma in the country can be dissected from different angles and each person or all stakeholders have a critical role to play.  Universities and other institutions of higher learning produce over 300,000 graduates per year. The job creation rate is about 70,000 jobs per year. This means that the job market is narrow. It is a common sight to see over 100 applicants for one job. This is a signal that something drastic must be done to change this trajectory.
