THE HUMBLE BEGINIING OF BAKAIMA REAL ESTATE AGENTS: EVERYONE CAN MAKE IT
I was humbled when I read the inspiring story of how Bakaima Property Agents began. The founder Mr.Karim Kawesa was born in a poor family and had never come to Kampala. But when he came to Kampala to get school fees from his relatives he was fascinated by the buildings he saw and since then he nurtured his dream. Today we see the impact of Bakaima Property Agents which has revolutionized the real estate industry in Uganda. As a believer that each person can achieve their dream regardless of their past, this message comes at the right time to inspire me and the rest of society.
For as long as one is alive and has the right mindset, he or she can achieve their dreams. The biggest challenge is lack of belief. This is worsened when one associates with other people with limited belief. As a certified coach Iam a firm believer in the potential of people. Unfortunately many focus on their circumstances to define their destiny. They do not know that their God given potential is much more than what they currently see or manifest. Did we know that even our academic transcript can not define our potential? What if you failed the exam because you were in bad moods that day? We have seen people who were defined as failures by society end up changing the world. The likes of the late Steve Jobs and Bill Gates. They dropped out of university and started companies that have changed the face of the world.
The elites have been accused of over assessing risks and having the desire to start with big funds to set up companies. This is contrary to the companies such as Equity Bank that started as a small building society in Kenya. Today it is in over 7 countries. What about Grameen Bank which started as a small project by Professor Mohammed Yunus as a medium for supporting the poor in Bangladesh. Today it is a pace setter in the microfinance industry in the world.
The question is, what is that dream that you are hiding away from society? Why do you fear to manifest it to the world? I s there a perfect timing for it rather than now? Uganda had been credited for being an entrepreneurial country. This means that we should nurture this spirit to build a better world and create opportunities for young people. It is said that most of the entrepreneurs in Kikuubo , Kampala's Central Business District never stepped into university but are driving Uganda's economy. This means lack of education should never act as a hindrance to achieving our dreams
