THE WORD "IMPOSSIBLE" CAN DESTROY OUR FINANCIAL AMBITIONS

One customer was discouraged because he had failed to get a loan the first time. We all experience rejection differently. However a negative attitude towards circumstances can destroy our dreams. I have read about countless people who have made wealth despite being raised from humble backgrounds. In his book Think and Grow Rich :A black Choice, Dr. Dennis Kimbro cites out different black Americans who were born in poor families and today they are influential and wealthy people. These include Oprah Winfrey. Today we may appreciate her status but she was born in a poor family. What inspired her dream was that small voice in her while she was still young was  that one day she will become great.

There are very many people in Uganda who have the potential to do great things as others have done in all sectors of the economy. Unfortunately the word impossible dominates their mind. We need to learn from those successful entrepreneurs who did not wait for a lot of capital to start their businesses. Many Indians come to Uganda with almost no capital and within a few years they are big entrepreneurs. This is because they have mastered the vale of patience and long term planning. They know how to control their spending habits. On the contrary many youths get some money and divert it to gambling and other unproductive ventures.

In a nation that is predominantly youths , there is a need to encourage them to dream big and to persist in pursuing their dreams. No great accomplishments are realized overnight. They require a positive attitude and bull dog tenacity. When youths desire instant riches we shall only witness more crime and financial mismanagement in society .

HOW TO INCREASE OUR FINANCES

1.Have a big vision for your life

2.Think long term

3.Invest in life long learning

4.Money is a seed for investment

5.Hire a financial mentor or coach

6.Change the language

7.Start small

8.Save as you earn

9.Track your expenses

10. Avoid emotional spending

11.Research before you invest.

There is a seed of greatness in each one of us. Unaware of their God given potential, many give up on their financial ambitions. They end up witnessing the select few who pursue their dreams without fear. If others have altered their financial landscapes even when they had a tough past, it is evidence that we too with a positive attitude and hard work we can make it as discussed.
