THE LINK BETWEEN GRATITUDE AND FINANCIAL ADVANCEMENT
Life is tough. Robert Schuller wrote a book called Tough Times Never last But Tough People Do. This means that the journey to financial advancement is also likely to be tough. In a nation where over 70% of the population is below 30 years, there is a tendency for most of them to think that the journey to wealth creation is a smooth sailing. I spend a lot of time training youths even at university about financial literacy and some of their questions show me that we should amplify financial literacy training in all corners o f the nation. At one time a university student used his tuition for gambling. This student did not know that there is a another student wo was willing to go to university but their parents did not have tuition. Other youths are invited for free financial literacy trainings but they find it irrelevant to attend or even seek for transport refund. Such students may not know that attending a financial literacy training is one of the life changing moments.
How is gratitude linked to financial advancement? It is important because if a person does not take stock of their current financial situation they are bound to make more financial mistakes. For example a person who is heavily in debt but continues to borrow recklessly is bound to become bankrupt and even lose his or her property to loan sharks. Being grateful requires one to learn from others who are ahead in the financial journey. No body know it all about finances. This is because even Bill Gates has financial advisors. Being grateful will mean recognizing that your job is the current source of capital for your business and one has to respect the source of income. Being grateful will mean that one will set up an emergency fund to cater for unforeseen circumstances as thy arise. Being grateful means that one will set up financial goals that will reflect the financial decisions that one makes on a daily basis. Being grateful means that one will develop a savings plan that will enable him or her to live with in their means . I have seen youths who compete with the rest of their peers and then they wonder why they are always in financial lack. Being grateful means that one will be willing to seek mentorship so that they can develop good money habits.

Money management requires due diligence. We have seen several examples of international stars who had all the money and today are struggling. That is why it is important to e grateful for what we have and seek better ways of improving our financial situation as discussed above. If others can we too can alter our financial lives one step at a time.
