DO NOT ALLOW YOUR IDEAS TO DIE

 Is the world built by perfect people?, most probably the answer is no. Some of the world's inventors were once laughed at. You might not be an exception. Thomas Edison failed several times when inventing the light bulb. Dr. Ben Carson who separated the Siamese twins was always the last in class. What do the examples show us? No one is immune from failure. The late Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 27 years but became president of  South Africa at an advanced age. Colonel Sanders of KFC was rejected several times but he did not give up. Today KFC is a global company. Google started from a garage. 

The generation of today is skewed at viewing success only from the top. However that is a limited view of issues. The age of instant achievements makes many youths to give up on their dreams. Ideas rule the world. Ambrose Kibuuka in his book After University What Next noted that Music Dance and Drama was always a despised course at university. Today some of the most well paid personalities are musicians. 

Dear reader do not discard your ideas, For as long as your idea is bound to add value to humanity keep on pursing it. We are all on the journey of self discovery. No one has their life cut out. Those who confidently pursue their ideas without fear of failure are likely to succeed. Dr. Myles Munroe noted that the wealthiest place in the world are not the gold mines but the cemetery. This is because that is where unfinished books, houses and companies reside. Let us not allow our ideas to be candidates for the cemetery.

HOW TO IMPLEMENT IDEAS

1.Believe that they are from God.

2.Write them down

3.Make research

4.Start small

5. Learn from failure

6.Embrace continuous learning

7. Think long term

8.Have a positive attitude 

9.Avoid self comparisons

10.Celebrate small wins.

11.Discover your strengths

Ideas should not be neglected. All successful companies such as Equity Bank and Coca Cola started as ideas. What ideas do you have and have you written them down?

A SAVINGS PLAN CAN AID IN FINANCIAL ADVANCEMENT

 I remember during the Trainer of Trainers training conducted by Bank of Uganda we were encouraged to develop a savings plan. This was a key development because without a plan we may live in financial darkness. WE CELEBRATE GRADUATION BUT AFTER THAT WHAT NEXT ?

 Uganda is officially dominated by young people. Over 50 %of the population are youths. With a high population the job market also shrinks yet people need to survive. It is the means of survival that create social pressure. The unemployment dilemma in the country can be dissected from different angles and each person or all stakeholders have a critical role to play.  Universities and other institutions of higher learning produce over 300,000 graduates per year.
