NEW VISION

 Steven Covey in his book The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People noted that every thing is created twice. First in the mind and then physical. As a coach that is passionate about human potential it has come to my attention that many people disregard the invisible power of creation. Iam amazed that a youth may fail to buy a personal development book which are sold on the street at a very cheap price but afford to borrow money to attend a leisure party. Iam not against parties but what Iam discussing is the rationale. Some youths are focused on blowing their money and neglecting their dreams.

A number of youths have forfeited their dreams because they are waiting for big monies to start. A number of youths have placed all their faith in academic transcripts and forgotten to use the skills acquired to solve social problems. Today we have some youths who are developing short term mechanisms of stealing peoples' property instead of using their minds to innovate. Today some youths are invited to attend capacity building seminars to acquire skills for wealth creation but give excuses that they do not have transport.

 So leaders that have changed the world did not wait for huge funds to start their companies. Bill Gates dropped out of Harvard to concetrate on his idea. Today he is one of the wealthiest men in the world. Some of the leading entrepreneurs in Uganda are not degree holders but they are employing graduates.

HOW TO SET A CLEAR VISION FOR YOUR LIFE.

1.Think long term

2.Have a sense of purpose

3.Write down clear goals

4.Associate with successful people

5.Start small but think big

6.Be determined to succeed

7.Learn from past mistakes

8.Have a positive attitude

9.Be a life long learner

10.Be persistent


Every person wants to succeed. Developing a big vision for your life is one of the prerequisites for life long success as discussed above.

A SAVINGS PLAN CAN AID IN FINANCIAL ADVANCEMENT

 I remember during the Trainer of Trainers training conducted by Bank of Uganda we were encouraged to develop a savings plan. This was a key development because without a plan we may live in financial darkness. CELEBRATE YOUR VALUE ON THIS LABOR DAY

As we celebrate International Labor Day,70% of Uganda's population is below the age of 30 years. One of the biggest challenges of youths is access to dignified employment opportunities. So many youths have lost in their ability to find work and we have seen cases where they commit crime in order to survive. A case in point is a clip I saw on social media where a man who had panga cut innocent children after asking for a ransom from the parents . Such tragic incidents show us that lack of access to dignified employment opportunities makes people lose their sense of value.
